HopMyNow – Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2025
Overview
HopMyNow is a lightweight Chrome extension designed to help ServiceNow developers and admins quickly open the same record or page across multiple ServiceNow instances.
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information HopMyNow collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
HopNow does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or browsing data.
The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not communicate with any external servers.
Specifically, HopNow does not collect or access the following:
-
Personally identifiable information (e.g., name, email, address)
-
Authentication or login credentials
-
Financial or payment information
-
Health or sensitive personal data
-
Browsing history, cookies, or usage analytics
Data Stored Locally
HopNow uses Chrome’s storage.sync feature to store your custom settings (such as instance names, IDs, and shortcut keys).
These settings:
-
Are stored locally in your browser or synced to your Google account (if you use Chrome sync).
-
Are never transmitted to any external server.
-
Can be deleted at any time by removing or resetting the extension.
Permissions Justification
HopMyNow requests minimal permissions necessary for functionality:
-
activeTab – to read the current ServiceNow page URL only when the user activates the extension.
-
storage – to save and sync instance settings and shortcuts.
-
tabs – to open or switch between ServiceNow instances in new tabs.
-
scripting – to retrieve the current tab’s URL when performing hops.
HopMyNow does not execute or fetch any remote code; all code is packaged within the extension.
Data Sharing
HopMyNow does not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties.
Third-Party Services
HopMyNow does not use or depend on any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
User Control and Removal
You may remove or disable HopNow at any time from your browser’s extension settings.
All locally stored data is deleted when the extension is uninstalled.
